Uganda: New Label for Promotion of Young Hip Hop Talent
Caesar Sta is based in Spain, he left Uganda two years ago, in search of better musical prospects.
Before going to Spain, Caesar Sta had recorded three songs in Kampala; Dear Mum, Uganda Anthem, and Talk to Caesar.
"The stations I visited did not play my songs until I started paying them," he says. Instead, Caesar embarked on sending demos to Europe and US record companies.
"Of the 29 music labels I sent my demos, SoundScapes Inc. Spain picked interest in me." The 21-year-old intends to set up the first hip hop record label in Uganda.
Construction works are nearing completion for the Young Money, Fresh Money Records House in Seguku on Entebbe Road. Caesar says his label will be about scouting for, and promoting young hip hop talent.
